The hollow handle angle provides a bypass for water flow when the skimmer basket is packed full. It allows for easy removal from the skimmer, and makes emptying the basket much easier.

stuff gets trapped up in the handle part and the holes in the basket seem large, lots of debris get thru, i tried using a skim sock, but had to cut a whole to fit over the handle and did not work very well.
Perfect fit for my skimmer. The handle allows for removing the basket without getting hands wet. It empties easily.
Very sturdy, can really handle a lot of leaves.
While a bit heavier (different material than prior basket), I really like the off set design of the handle. Otherwise it fit just fine into the well.
Just received these so an early review. Good fit. Like that it’s weighted. Appears well made. Much heavier material than my previous baskets. Let’s see how they hold up.
