I bought this filter because I had bought the same unit over 20 years ago and I was very happy with it. I was willing to pay a little more for something that I know is well worth it. Although the old unit is still working, it has been losing power and was due to be replaced. It is very quiet for a pump that has so much power. The only complaint I have about the new one is that the installation manual is not very easy to follow. Fortunately for me, I had the old filter to use as a guide.
