No need for Teflon tape, reduce the risk of over tightening and cracking pump/filter housing. CPVC/ PVC. These will make plumbing your pool pump or filter easy and convenient. Unions are detachable which makes removing your equipment convenient. No cutting out existing plumbing. It was exactly what I needed, but one came without a gasket, so I had to make one. Other than that, it worked well... 5 stars if they both were complete.

These CMP couplers are great. They seal nice to the pump with the large O-ring (no more Teflon tape and pipe dope needed on the threads), and they have a large concial sealing ring under the coupler (not a o-ring like the cheaper types). I highly recomment this coupler.
