AOP (Advanced Oxidation Process ) Is the most power advanced sanitizer.
The AOP50 creates an Advanced Oxidation Process that utilizes exclusive Plasma Gap ozone technology, with and integrated Trident Germicidal Ultraviolet light. When ozone and germicidal UV are combined in a single system, the UV light interacts with the ozone, and the resulting chemical reaction generates hydroxyl free radicals. Hydroxyl free radicals have even more oxidation potential than ozone, and three times the ocidation power of chlorine. The power of the whole system is increased; creating the synergy of the Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP).

THE SCIENCE OF AOP
When germicidal UV light (UV-C) and ozone react the result is the production of hydroxyl radicals. This reaction is known as Advanced Oxidation Process, or AOP.
Hydroxyl radicals (•OH) are the most powerful oxidation agents available, quickly destroying bacteria, viruses, pathogens and other contaminants that occur in water. Hydroxyl radicals also destroy chlorine resistant microorganisms, such as Cryptosporidium Parvum, Giardia and E.Coli.

Is a MDV (Mixing Degas Vessel) required for every instillation?
Only a very small percentage of pools need the MDV but it may be an option in any instance where bubbles in the return line may not be wanted. The MDV is not required in vinyl applications although it may be desired. Some builders use them as a regular rule without regard to need but that is strictly being done at their discretion. The MDV is required for all indoor and covered-pool applications on residential pools. You may also want to use the MDV in a situation where there is a vanishing edge and the surface water needs to maintain a smooth, glassy surface. Plumbing the effluent side of the AOP unit on a dedicated return line usually eliminates the need for an MDV unless otherwise determined.
Can I stop using chlorine in my pool with this Ozone with UV system?
The CMP/DEL AOP advanced Ozone UV sanitizer will get you closer than any other alternative sanitizer product on the market. First, there is no replacement for a residual sanitizer such as chlorine in pool water disinfection. For any alternative sanitizer to replace chlorine, it must: provide a stable residual; be able to kill viruses, bacteria and algae; and oxidize impurities. Chlorine is the only sanitizer that can do all three of these functions. The DEL AOP produces hydroxyl radicals in a process that is known as Advanced Oxidation Process, or AOP . Hydroxyl radicals are the most powerful oxidation agents available, and quickly destroy bacteria, viruses, pathogens and other contaminants that occur in water. Hydroxyl radicals also destroy chlorine resistant micro-organisms, such as Crypt osporidium Parvum, Giardia and E.Coli. The hydrocyl radicals fulfill two the required funtions mentioned above, they kill viruses, bacteria and algae; and oxidize impurities. With the use of an AOP alternative sanitizer you will see a 60-75% reduction in chlorine demand.
