Motor came in exactly as described. Customer service was excellent in helping me choose a motor.

This Century motor is made in China. In a side by side comparison with the Pentair motor the lesser quality is obvious. The outside motor housing is lighter weight steel and the components inside are configured a little differently. There are no directions on how to wire it to a remote toggle switch, but regardless of what way you install the wires on the lugs, you won’t burn anything up. Just try switching them around. It took me 4 tries before it operated correctly. It runs strong on high speed, but the motor thumps hard when you switch it to low spee. The Pentair motor was much smoother in that transition. Since the pump is exposed to the weather, I added silicone caulk around the edge of plastic terminal cover when I affixed it after wiring it up to keep the rain out. The old Pentair motor lasted 6 years running 24/7. I will be surprised if this replacement goes more than 4 years being where it was manufactured. This was a direct fitment onto the Pentair pump with no issues.
